Erie Canal Harbor
There are so many things to do in Buffalo, especially during the summer. The Waterfront in Downtown has been brought back to life in recent years and should be utilized by everyone in the area. The Waterfront is where the Erie Canal and Lake Erie meet, and where Buffalo first thrived as a city after the building of the Erie Canal in 1825. Many who visit the Harbor choose to walk along the newly revived area gazing into the sun or sunset, at the ships and boats and spend time just enjoying the beauty along the water. However on those special nights you can catch free concerts at Thursday at the Harbor, where bands come in and play shows for all that choose to attend. Some of the artists to play this summer have been Fitz And The Tantrums, Fountains of Wayne, and Seether. Show goers can enjoy the nice weather, have a few drinks and spend time listening to god music along the water with good friends. Other attractions in the area include the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park tours where visitors pay a small fee to tour the three ships on the lake and learn about their history among other things. During the summer months they also have some free exercise classes that are available to the public. There are many other tours and fun places to visit along the Harbor and you can find some of them at http://www.buffaloplace.com/home .
